Chhapra/Saran: A swift crackdown against corrupt police officers continues in Chhapra, Saran, as the Superintendent of Police takes decisive action against officers involved in illicit practices. In a recent incident that came to light, a police patrol team from Chhapra’s Mufassil police station was captured on video engaging in unauthorized recovery from a sand-laden tractor. The video swiftly circulated across social media platforms, prompting an immediate response from the authorities.
Based on the viral video evidence, the Superintendent of Police (SP) wasted no time in taking action. Four Bihar State Armed Police (SAP) personnel, including a woman constable, were suspended in connection with the incident. An official First Information Report (FIR) has also been lodged against the suspended officers at the Mufassil police station.
According to the report, The suspended personnel have been identified as Female Assistant Sub-Inspector Pratima Kumari of Mufassil police station, SAP driver Gharbharan Ram, Constable Khemchand Kumar, and Constable Harendra Rai. Following a thorough investigation that validated the authenticity of the viral video, the SP deemed it necessary to suspend the implicated officers and initiate legal proceedings.
All the personnel involved, including the inspector, have been placed in judicial custody. The SP has called upon the public to actively participate in efforts to curb corruption within the police force. Residents are encouraged to share audio and video evidence of any illegal activities by police officers through a designated WhatsApp number, with the assurance that their identities will remain confidential.
The SP emphasized that action will be taken against guilty officers based on the available evidence. An earnest plea has been extended to the general public to cooperate in the quest for accountability, urging citizens to contribute to the process of identifying and rectifying any instances of misconduct within the police ranks.
