Lal Krishna Advani turns 95, PM Modi with Rajnath Singh meets LK Advani and wishes him a happy birthday

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met veteran BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani to wishes him on his birthday. On this special occasion, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh was also present with PM Modi.

PM Modi reached the lawn with Advani’s daughter Pratibha Advani and handed Advani a bouquet before the wishes. However, other party leaders also congratulated Advani on his birthday.

Advani, the BJP’s longest-serving president, turned 95 on Tuesday.

In a PM Modi official twitter, he wrote; “Went to Advani Ji’s residence and wished him on his birthday. His contribution to India’s growth is monumental. He is respected all across India for his vision and intellect. His role in building and strengthening the BJP is unparalleled. I pray for his long and healthy life.”

“Wishing a very happy birthday to respected LK Advani ji. Advani ji, on one hand, strengthened the organization across the country with his continuous hard work, while on the other hand, while being in the government, made an invaluable contribution to the development of the country. I pray to God for his good health and long life”, Amit Shah wished him good health and long life.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that Advani has made a very important contribution to the country, “Many wishes to the revered Lal Krishna Advani ji on his birthday. He is counted among the tallest figures of Indian politics. He has made a very important contribution in the development journey of the country, society and the party. I wish him good health and long life”, Singh wrote.

He was one of the founding members of BJP in 1980 and remained the main face of the party along with former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for several decades. Advani was the Home Minister of the country in the Vajpayee government and later he was given the responsibility of the post of Deputy Prime Minister.

To establish the BJP as a major national political party, he undertook a Rath Yatra in the 1990s for the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. This incident is seen as an epoch-making turning point in national politics, after which the BJP continued to grow stronger.
