JDU President Lalan Singh Questions PM Modi’s Silence on Manipur Incident

Patna: The appalling incident of two women being publicly paraded naked in Manipur has ignited a political storm, with the entire opposition directing their ire towards the BJP-led central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Many opposition leaders have gone as far as demanding PM Modi’s resignation, condemning the matter in the strongest terms.

Even former Chief Minister of Bihar and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav didn’t mince his words when attacking the central government over the incident. He took to social media to express his outrage, stating that democracy, localism, faith, culture, harmony, dialogue, and humanity are being blatantly trampled upon in Manipur. He accused those who incite hatred and violence of hiding behind the veil of righteousness while being devoid of love, harmony, humanity, social unity, and Indian civilization. Lalu Prasad Yadav deemed the happenings in Manipur as deeply shameful.

Adding to the voices of condemnation, JDU’s national president Lalan Singh also expressed his anguish over the incident. He questioned whether the Prime Minister, who enjoys accolades abroad, truly empathizes with humanity or not. Singh criticized PM Modi for seeking applause overseas while such inhumane incidents are occurring within the country. He called on the Prime Minister to break his silence and address the concerns surrounding the incident, as it has brought shame upon the entire nation.

Amid the ongoing violence in Manipur, a disturbing video has surfaced on social media, further embarrassing humanity. The video captures a crowd parading two women naked, and there are allegations of the women being gang-raped as well. The emergence of this video has intensified the opposition’s attack on the government, and there are expectations of a heated debate on the issue during the upcoming monsoon session of Parliament. The government has agreed to discuss the Manipur violence in Parliament, which may lead to further scrutiny and calls for accountability.

The incident in Manipur has shaken the conscience of the nation, and people from all walks of life are demanding swift and decisive action against the perpetrators.
