“Minor tremors rock Tezpur as 3.7 magnitude earthquake strikes”, No casualties reported”

Tezpur (Assam): An earthquake measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale struck the town of Tezpur in Assam on Friday morning, causing temporary panic among residents. The tremor, which occurred at precisely 10:05 am, originated 39 kilometers west of Tezpur, with a depth of 10 kilometers, as confirmed by the National Center for Seismology (NCS).

Although the earthquake was of a relatively low magnitude, its impact was felt by the local population. People rushed out of their homes and offices, seeking open spaces to ensure their safety. Some minor structural damages, such as cracks in walls and shattered glass, were reported by a few residents, but fortunately, no casualties have been reported thus far.
