 “No BF.7 variant found in Delhi, people should take precaution” dose says- Arvind Kejriwal

NEW DELHI: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has said that at present there are no patients of BF.7 variant of Corona in Delhi, people do not need to panic, but at the same time he has appealed to the people to take the precaution dose of Corona vaccine.

“No need to worry for now, if at all Covid spreads again, we are fully prepared to deal with it. ” the Delhi CM said. 

On Thursday, Kejriwal said, “Only 24 percent people have taken the precaution dose. There is an appeal to the people to take the precaution dose. We have 380 ambulances, we have ordered more. We will wait for the Centre’s guidelines. Will give, we will implement it.”

Kejriwal further informed that the Delhi government is indulged in genome sequencing and that only XBB variants are coming to Delhi. “XBB variant of Covid accounts for 92% of positive cases; BF.7 not detected even in sewage samples taken from 7 places in Delhi”, Kejriwal added. 

The chief minister directed the health department to ensure genome sequencing of samples and take other steps needed to meet any eventuality.

He said that Delhi currently has 8,000 Covid beds, and the target is 36,000 beds, in addition to this there is a capacity to store 928 metric tonnes of oxygen.

He said, “There is not even a single case of the variant (BF.7) in Delhi. So there is no need to worry. We are doing genome sequencing. At present, cases of XBB variant are coming in Delhi.”
