NEW DELHI: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has hit back at the opposition for raising questions on economic progress.
Nirmala Sitharaman has said that India’s economy is growing fastest but ‘the opposition has a problem with it’. She said, it was sad that people in Parliament continued to raise doubts because they were “jealous of country’s increasing economy”.

Nirmala Sitharaman said in the Lok Sabha today (on Monday) that there are some people in Parliament ‘who are jealous of the country’s growing economy’.
She has said that everyone should be proud of India’s progress but some people make fun of it.
She said that the Indian rupee is stronger than every currency in the world. He said that the Reserve Bank is trying to ensure that the difference between the dollar and the rupee does not increase.
“Look at the data of growing FDIs and FIIs in the country before criticism,” she told the Opposition members raising questions on India’s economy and related issues.
“The Indian rupee has been strong against every currency. Reserve Bank has used foreign exchange reserves that it has to intervene in the market to make sure that the Dollar-Rupee fluctuation does not go too much, she added.
