KIEV/RUSSIA: Russia has carried out several air strikes in the Ukrainian capital Kiev since morning.
A pedestrian bridge built in Kiev has been badly damaged in a Russian missile attack. People also use the Klitschko bridge for cycling. It was made in the year 2019.
This bridge built on the banks of the Dnieper river is the center of great attraction among tourists. It is covered with glass panels and there is a busy road below.
The length of the Klitschko bridge is 212 meters and the height is 32 meters. This bridge is usually buzzing due to artists and musicians.

Footage from a CCTV camera installed on the bridge shows at what time the attack took place. It is not yet clear whether anyone has been injured in the Russian missile attack.
Russian President Vladimir Putin this morning confirmed the attacks in several places in Ukraine.
In a video address, Vladimir Putin said Russia’s long-range missiles had targeted Ukraine’s energy, military and communications facilities.
Putin reiterated that any “terrorist” activities in Russian territory would be given a “stern” response.
Putin is expected to attend a meeting of Russia’s Security Council today and discuss the attack on the bridge connecting Russia to Crimea.
According to Ukraine’s army chief, Russia has fired 75 missiles since morning, of which 41 missiles have been neutralized through air defense systems.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia had targeted energy infrastructure across the country in the attacks.
“They want to spread panic and chaos, they want to destroy our energy system. They are disappointed,” Zelensky said in a Telegram post.
“Russia’s second target is the civilian population. They are selectively targeting such places to inflict as much damage as possible,” Zelensky said.
Zelensky has appealed to people to stay in bunkers.
