Telugu actor & TDP leader Taraka Ratna passes away at 39, PM Modi condoles

BENGALURU: Telugu film actor and TDP leader Nandamuri Taraka Ratna (39) died on Saturday in a private hospital in Bengaluru. Last month, he was admitted to the hospital after suffering a heart attack.

Tarak Ratna was the cousin of noted film actor Junior NTR and the grandson of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister NT Rama Rao.

In January, Taraka Ratna collapsed after a cardiac arrest while he was participating in ‘Yuva Galam’ at Andhra Pradesh’s Kuppam, the padayatra by Nara Lokesh, son of ex-AP CM Chandra Babu Naidu. He was then rushed to Narayana Hrudalaya in Bengaluru and a team of doctors were treating him.

After his untimely death, Many prominent people from the film and political world paid their condolences to the family of Taraka Ratna on social media.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has paid tribute to him. He wrote on Twitter, “Pained by the untimely demise of Shri Nandamuri Taraka Ratna Garu. He made a mark for himself in the world of films and entertainment. My thoughts are with his family and admirers in this sad hour. Om Shanti”.

Karnataka Health Minister and BJP leader Dr K Sudhakar has also prayed for the salvation of his soul on the social media site Twitter. He wrote: “Deeply saddened to learn about the untimely demise of renowned Telugu Actor Shri. Nandamuri Taraka Ratna. Despite best efforts, his passing away came as a misfortune. My sincere condolences to his family. Praying for the sadgati of the departed soul. Om Shanti.”

Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu wrote, ” Shocked and deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Taraka Ratna. Gone way too soon brother… My thoughts and prayers are with the family and loved ones during this time of grief”.

Film actor Allu Arjun wrote in a tweet, ” Heartbroken to learn of the passing away of Tarak Ratna garu. Gone to soon . My deepest condolences to his family, friends & fans. May he rest in peace.”
