“Telugu Film ‘Kushi’ starring Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu hits Global screens”

Box Office Redemption: All Eyes on ‘Kushi’ After ‘Liger’ and ‘Shaakuntalam’

Telugu Film ‘Kushi’: In a much-anticipated cinematic extravaganza, the Telugu film “Kushi” has finally made its worldwide debut, boasting an ensemble cast led by the charismatic duo of Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Alongside them, the film features the talents of Sachin Khedekar, Saranya Ponvannan, and Murali Sharma, among other stellar performers. Helmed by the accomplished director Shiva Nirvana, “Kushi” carries with it immense expectations, especially in light of the recent underwhelming performances by both Vijay and Samantha in their respective cinematic outings.

Vijay Deverakonda, who had last graced the silver screen with the much-hyped but ultimately disappointing “Liger,” recently opened up about the string of box office disappointments in his career. In a candid conversation with Cinema Express, Vijay candidly admitted, “I know people may find this hard to accept, but I genuinely believe that every script I’ve chosen was fantastic. It was the execution that didn’t quite align with our plans. For instance, an inside joke among friends might not resonate well with a wider audience if the delivery and timing aren’t spot on. That’s precisely what happened with films like ‘Liger,’ ‘NOTA,’ and even ‘Dear Comrade.'”

The weight of expectations is palpable for both Vijay and Samantha, as their recent cinematic endeavors failed to hit the mark at the box office. Samantha’s “Shaakuntalam” turned out to be a colossal letdown, leaving producer Dil Raju disheartened. Consequently, all eyes are now firmly fixed on “Kushi,” which has garnered significant buzz not only in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana but also in the neighboring state of Tamil Nadu.

While the film has naturally garnered more attention in the Telugu-speaking regions, it has also secured a substantial market in Tamil Nadu. Vijay Deverakonda’s magnetic appeal extends beyond Andhra Pradesh, thanks to the widespread popularity of his romantic hits like “Arjun Reddy” and “Geeta Govindam,” which even resonated with audiences in the tier-two cities of Tamil Nadu.

Film trade analyst Ramesh Bala has made his predictions, foreseeing a ‘soft opening’ for “Kushi” in Tamil Nadu. He anticipates a collection of at least Rs 1 crore from Chennai and various other districts in Tamil Nadu. Ramesh Bala explains, “Across Tamil Nadu, the film is set to premiere in approximately 250 theaters. Among the releases scheduled for tomorrow, ‘Kushi’ is undoubtedly a major attraction. However, the initial response may be modest, with collections ranging between Rs 1 to 2 crore. Word-of-mouth and audience reception will play a pivotal role in propelling the film to greater heights.”
