LUCKNOW: Notorious gangster Anil Dujana, who was based in the Dujana village of Badalpur in Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, has died in an encounter with the Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh Police. The encounter took place in Meerut, in western Uttar Pradesh, and was confirmed by ADG of UP STF Amitabh Yash.
Anil Dujana had a long list of criminal cases against him, including murder, extortion, and other serious offenses. He had just been released from jail about a week before the encounter took place, and was reportedly threatening people who had testified against him in Gautam Budh Nagar.

The police have recovered a 32 pistol, a 30 pistol, and a large quantity of cartridges from Anil Dujana’s possession. He was traveling in a four-wheeler when the encounter took place.

Anil Dujana’s village, Dujana village in Badalpur, was known as Sundar Nagar alias Sundar Daku in the seventies and eighties. He had a long history of criminal activities, with the first case of murder against him being registered in 2002 in Kavi Nagar police station of Ghaziabad.
About 50 cases of murder, extortion, and other serious crimes had been registered against Anil Dujana in various districts of western Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. His death in the encounter is seen as a major victory for the STF and the law enforcement agencies who had been trying to nab him for a long time.
