Under-trial prisoner dies, three injured in scuffle at Tihar Jail, Delhi
NEW DELHI: Several incidents of violence and unrest have been reported from different parts of India in the past few days. In one such incident, a man hit several vehicles in an attempt to escape after a scuffle broke out between him and locals in the Wazirabad area of Delhi. The incident took place after the man’s car hit a bike, as reported by the news agency ANI. The Delhi Police informed that nobody was seriously injured due to the incident, and the driver was caught by locals and later detained by the police.
In another incident, stone-pelting broke out between people of two communities in Malpura in the Tonk district of Rajasthan. According to Sub-Divisional Officer Malpura, Mahipal Singh, police officials were also injured in the incident. Singh informed that the situation worsened after a scuffle in Nagori locality led to stone-pelting between the two communities, in which many people were injured and several vehicles were damaged by miscreants, while some police personnel were also injured. The top officials of the police have left Tonk with the police force to check the situation at Malpura and try to pacify the groups in the area. Malpura Deputy Superintendent of Police Sushil Mann said that the restoration of peace should be the first priority.

In a separate incident earlier this month, an under-trial prisoner died, and three inmates were injured after a scuffle between inmates broke out in Tihar Jail, Delhi. The Delhi police informed that the under-trial prisoner named Prince Teotia was declared brought dead at the hospital, and the condition of the other three injured is stable.
