Bihar: DGP SK Singhal’s press conference before retirement, says- “People should also be alert along with police”

Patna: Bihar’s DGP SK Singhal held a press conference on Monday before retirement. During this, he said about the case of spurious liquor that along with the police, the common people also need to be vigilant. However, he got a little agitated on the question regarding the action taken against the officials in Chhapra liquor case. On this question, he said that the investigation of the matter is going on, action will be taken against all those who are found guilty.

DGP SK Singhal said, “I have been the DGP for more than two years. I consider myself lucky. All the work would not have been possible without the guidance of the Chief Minister. We were able to make the police people friendly. In the last two years, we made 26 thousand 700 appointments”.

“There are 24.29% women officers and personnel in Bihar Police. From ASI to DSP are working on contract. Land was made available to many police lines. Police will work well, only then people will be able to get better facilities”, he added.

The DGP said that there has been an increase in the money being given for the treatment of police personnel and their families. Bihar’s situation has improved in terms of incidents in 2021. Those who did good work were honored. More than five lakh arrests took place. More than 19 thousand notorious criminals are under arrest. Many big liquor smugglers from outside states were arrested. Many erring police personnel were also dismissed. DSP will now work on the lines of SP Rural.

Further, the police chief told that in the coming time, the police have to be updated about problems like economic crime, cybercrime, incidents with women and children and juvenile crime. At the same time, he said about Gaya’s former SSP Aditya Kumar that the investigation is going on. He definitely misled me in this matter, but I had also lodged the complaint. Along with this, he also thanked everyone.

Rajwinder Singh Bhatti will be the new DGP

However, new DGP of Bihar Rajwinder Singh Bhatti has been made. He is a 1990 batch IPS officer of the Indian Police Service. On Sunday, the notification of the name of the new DGP was issued by the Home Department of the Government of Bihar. SK Singhal’s tenure ends on December 19, after which Rajwinder Singh Bhatti has been made the new DGP of the state. Bhatti was earlier serving as the ADG of the Border Security Force (BSF) Eastern Command.
