Bihar hooch tragedy: “No ruckus in BJP ruled states, only in Bihar”, Tejashwi Yadav on spurious liquor

Spurious liquor claims 20 lives in Chhapra, death toll on rise

PATNA: After the death of 20 people due to drinking poisonous liquor in Chhapra, Bihar, now politics has started on this. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was enraged when BJP raised the issue of spurious liquor in the winter session of the Vidhansabha. The same state’s Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav has said that the situation is more serious in BJP ruled states.

He said, ” Bharatiya Janata Party ruled states are in the top 3-4 in terms of deaths due to spurious liquor. If you compare Bihar and Gujarat, in the last four years, 50 people have died in Gujarat, in UP while 21 people have died in Bihar. The agenda of BJP people is only to spread lies and hatred”.

He said, “Just now there was a liquor scandal in Chhapra in which people died, so where were these people (BJP) 3-4 months ago. When the Gopalganj incident happened, the BJP people were silent. Then one of their ministers Liquor was found at a relative’s house then why was no one speaking anything?”

“Today they are only doing drama. When the session is going on, it is not proper to do such drama in the middle. Actually, they don’t have any issue, they are scared about 2024.”

Deputy CM said, BJP is only creating ruckus by not raising public issues. Everyone knows that the new government of the Grand Alliance under the leadership of Nitish ji is doing a lot of work for the people. We are ready to listen to all his talks. On both the days the house was marred by uproar. There are 6 Bills, they should have been debated.
