BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal claims: Bihar’s state worse than Pakistan, after flag display slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad”

West Champaran: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament (MP) Sanjay Jaiswal has voiced alarming comparisons between the state of affairs in Bihar and Pakistan. Jaiswal’s remarks came to light amidst discussions surrounding the tragic murder of SHO Nandkishore Yadav in Samastipur.

Representing the Bettiah constituency, MP Sanjay Jaiswal highlighted a distressing incident that occurred on August 15. He pointed out that in his area, a flag displaying slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” was unfurled, prompting government authorities to contemplate taking punitive measures against students who protested against this act.

Criticizing the state government, Jaiswal took a swipe at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s leadership. He expressed the prevailing lack of faith in Kumar’s capabilities, accusing various individuals of engaging in corrupt activities. Jaiswal alleged that these individuals are strategically aligning themselves to secure power in the upcoming 2024 elections, with the intent of shielding their families from potential scandals thereafter.

Furthermore, Jaiswal shed light on concerning developments in Bihar’s law enforcement. He lamented the hazardous situation wherein anyone daring to stand against cow smugglers, regardless of their identity as a law enforcement officer or a common citizen, faces grave risks and potential harm.

Turning to cultural observations, Jaiswal highlighted disparities in the treatment of different traditions. He noted the practice of changing the Mahaviri flag on Ramnavami and the flag-changing tradition on Nagpanchami in Champaran. Jaiswal contrasted this with a disconcerting occurrence in Bettiah’s Lalsarayya, where individuals buying Mahaviri flags reportedly face arrests and imprisonment. Jaiswal underscored the irony that, within the current government, those raising the flag of Pakistan on Independence Day appear to escape consequences, while action is taken against those who proudly display the Mahaviri flag.

On a preceding August 15th, a startling occurrence unfolded in Bihar’s West Champaran district. Muslim youths were reported to have unfurled Islamic flags within the vicinity of a school on India’s Independence Day. This incident took place within the precinct of Majhauliya police station.

Following the ceremonial hoisting of the national tricolour at a senior secondary school, several Muslim youths approached the scene while brandishing Islamic flags. Their attempt to raise the Islamic green flag alongside the national emblem on the ground was thwarted by vigilant teachers and students. The swift intervention of the educational community led to the youths being dispersed.

Subsequently, law enforcement authorities were summoned to the location, where they remain stationed to ensure the preservation of order and tranquility. The incident has sparked discussions and deliberations concerning cultural and symbolic expressions on significant national occasions.
